Melt treatment stations upstream of aluminum extrusion operate in continuous production lines with limited downtime windows. Conventional in-line degassing tanks feature fixed structures. Rotors, refractory linings, and heating elements are enclosed inside the chamber with limited access. Disassembly consumes long downtime and reduces overall equipment availability.
Graphite rotors are consumable parts under high-temperature conditions and require periodic replacement. Many older models require complicated hoisting and disassembly. Hot casings cool slowly and raise safety hazards for operators. For 25–35 t/h melting-casting lines supporting aluminum extrusion, simplified maintenance is a critical evaluation factor for plant buyers.
The FDUII-30 fixed box-type dual-rotor degassing unit integrates a hydraulic pushrod lifting and rotating assembly with a 0–180° tilting function. Maintenance staff can directly access rotors, heating assemblies, and refractory lining. The unit remains in in-line installation during normal refining. When maintenance is required, the rotor assembly can be rotated out of the chamber without extensive pipe disassembly. This design fits continuous operation of melt treatment stations before aluminum extrusion and shortens consumable replacement time.

During production, the chamber stays closed with inert shielding gas to suppress melt oxidation and dross generation. The hydraulic rotating system uses an independent power unit and does not compromise chamber sealing. After rotation, consumables including rotors and SiC heating rods can be inspected and replaced directly.
The chamber lining is cast from high-strength CV8 refractory castable with good erosion resistance to extend lining service intervals. An integrated fault alarm system monitors gas pressure and temperature, helping maintenance teams predict component wear and schedule planned shutdowns to avoid unexpected stops.
The hydraulic rotating mechanism eases maintenance work, yet high-temperature safety procedures must be followed. Gas pressure relief and casing cooling are mandatory before service. Operators should regularly inspect hydraulic circuits to prevent oil leakage. This mechanism facilitates manual maintenance and does not provide automatic rotor replacement.
