The entire process of natural drying, oven drying, and furnace cleaning relies on flues and chimneys to complete the discharge of water vapor, smoke, and dust. However, newly built or overhauled smelting furnace flues will accumulate a large amount of masonry dust, refractory debris, mortar lumps, and construction waste inside; If the flue is blocked for a long time, it will cause poor smoke exhaust during the drying stage, uncontrolled furnace pressure, and significantly prolonged drying cycle; After formal production, there will still be a series of problems such as excessive smoke exhaust resistance, incomplete combustion, soaring energy consumption, and severe carbon deposition in the furnace. Therefore, before starting natural drying and baking, it is necessary to complete the comprehensive cleaning and debugging of the flue system, which is an auxiliary key preparation work that runs through the entire process of starting a new furnace.
1.1Segmented dismantling and cleaning of flue: Divide the flue into furnace outlet section, horizontal flue section, settling ash hopper section, gate valve section, and vertical chimney section, and manually enter the interior of the flue to clean the remaining refractory bricks, mortar lumps, sand and gravel, dust and debris from the masonry; Focus on cleaning the dead corners of ash accumulation at the bottom of the flue to avoid ash falling off and blocking the flue passage during later drying and production processes.
1.2Cleaning the flue gate and actuator: Disassemble the flue gate (which is the core component for regulating furnace pressure), clean the refractory ash residue adhered to the surface of the gate, check whether the gate lifting action is flexible and free of jamming, ensure smooth adjustment of the opening during subsequent baking and production processes, and accurately control the furnace pressure to stabilize in the 2-4mmH ₂ O range.
1.3Chimney internal cleaning: Clean the dust and clumps attached to the inner wall of the chimney to ensure sufficient chimney suction force; Check the sealing condition of the chimney to prevent air leakage in the flue. Air leakage will significantly reduce the chimney's suction force, causing excessive positive pressure in the furnace, external flame spraying, and increased energy consumption.
