Before the formal production of new melting furnaces for aluminum alloy melting and casting, as well as melting furnaces after major/medium/minor repairs, four systematic preparations must be fully implemented: flue cleaning and commissioning, natural drying, step drying, and pure aluminum furnace washing.
Natural drying relies on room temperature air convection to slowly remove free moisture from the surface of the furnace lining, avoiding rapid heating and cracking of refractory masonry during the early stage of drying; The oven relies on a step-by-step low-temperature insulation and high-temperature sintering mode to completely remove all moisture, while completing the dense sintering of refractory lining and constructing a stable furnace structure that is resistant to high temperature and aluminum liquid erosion; Cleaning the furnace by soaking and flushing with pure aluminum solution to remove all solid impurities in the furnace, passivate the pores at the bottom of the magnesia sand furnace, and prevent subsequent problems such as aluminum inclusion, aluminum infiltration, and abnormal alloy composition; The cleaning and debugging of the flue ensures smooth smoke exhaust and stable furnace pressure throughout the process, supporting the smooth implementation of the first three processes.
The four processes progress layer by layer and are indispensable. Only by strictly following the process specifications and completing all the preparatory work can the melting furnace serve the production of aluminum alloy casting in a stable, long-lasting, and low-energy manner. It can continuously produce high-quality aluminum alloy ingots with low hydrogen, low slag, and uniform composition, providing high-quality billet support for subsequent deep processing processes such as rolling and extrusion.
