Aluminum Recycling Plants Address Melting Capacity Challenges with a Tilting Aluminum Melting Furnace Rated at ≥4 t/h

2026-09-16

Melting capacity is an important consideration for aluminum recycling and foundry operations handling aluminum scrap, recycled feedstock, and aluminum alloys. The proposed aluminum melting tilting furnace uses a rectangular, single-chamber tilting design with a regenerative natural gas combustion system. It is intended for melting aluminum and aluminum alloys, followed by skimming, stirring, sampling, composition adjustment, and temperature adjustment before casting.

Melting Capacity for Aluminum Recycling

The technical proposal specifies a melting rate of ≥4 t/h under defined operating conditions. The performance assessment uses 100% aluminum ingots as the raw material, with melting time and gas consumption measured until the molten aluminum reaches 720°C.

This specification can provide a clear reference for production planning in aluminum recycling plants, aluminum foundries, and casting operations. Actual melting performance can still vary with feedstock, charging practice, operating conditions, and process requirements.

Regenerative Combustion for Aluminum Melting

The furnace uses a regenerative combustion system in which paired burners alternate between combustion and exhaust. Heat from the flue gas is recovered through the regenerator and used to preheat combustion air. The proposal specifies a heat recovery efficiency above 85%, with the main exhaust temperature designed at no more than 200°C.

Hydraulic Tilting and Melt Control

For molten aluminum transfer, the furnace uses hydraulic tilting with laser-based level detection and encoder-based tilt-angle measurement. The specified molten aluminum level control accuracy is ≤±2 mm, supporting controlled transfer during casting preparation.

These specifications provide measurable reference points for evaluating an aluminum melting tilting furnace in recycling and aluminum foundry applications, without relying on unsupported percentage-based performance claims.
