FAQ

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using refractory bricks to build a natural gas melting furnace compared to a full fiber casting furnace?

Advantages:
① Corundum refractory bricks are resistant to high temperature and aluminum liquid erosion. The furnace lining life can reach 12-18 months under long-term working conditions above 750 ℃, far exceeding the fiber lining life of 3-6 months;
② Anti erosion, anti cold and hot shock, frequent feeding and intermittent production are not easy to shed or leak aluminum;
③ Strong heat storage capacity, slow temperature drop after shutdown, and lower energy consumption for continuous production;
④ Repairing partial damage only requires individual brick replacement, without the need for overall rebuilding, resulting in lower repair costs.

Shortcoming: The furnace body has a huge self weight, and the foundation of the factory building needs to be reinforced; Long drying cycle (3-5 days); The initial masonry cost is higher than that of the fiber furnace; The heating rate is slightly slower. Suitable for large tonnage aluminum melting furnaces, high amount of recycled materials, and long-term 24-hour continuous casting production lines.
